The New England Fall Classic Championship Cup will make it’s way to 900 Degrees Pizza in Manchester, NH as Team Purple won the championship tournament on Saturday at St. Anselm College.
Eliminating Vermont’s “Green Mountain Coffee” Orange and the Worcester area based Massachusetts Texas Orange on their way to keeping the cup in New Hampshire. For Coach Dylan Mullin this is his second Fall Classic win, for coach Eddy Coulombe his first.
Salem Junior Dan Morin was 4 for 5 in the championship game vs. Worcester and plated the winning run with an RBI single.
Purple had to rally from down 6-0 vs. Vermont Orange to even advance to the title game. A 7 run fifth inning did the job as they would pull off a 7-6 come back win. BOX SCORE
In the first game of the day Mass Orange defeated the wild card team NH Black 2-0.
The championship game was a back and forth battle with NH Purple scoring runs in the top half of three different innings only to have MA Orange answer back with runs of their own in the bottom half. The couldn’t do it a fourth time when NH Purple scored to take the lead in the top of the 7th.
Congratulations to “900 Degrees” NH Team Purple the 2011 New England Fall Classic Champions.
